What We Collect

Account holders: Email address, name, and hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Event guests: Photos, optional display name, optional caption. Guests do not need an account — no email or login required.

Automatically: Basic server logs (IP addresses, timestamps) for security and debugging. No tracking cookies, no analytics scripts, no third-party trackers.

How We Use It

Your data is used only to operate the Service: displaying photos on the wall, sending you account emails (verification, password reset, optional notifications), and processing payments. We do not sell, share, or monetize your data.

Content Moderation

Uploaded photos are automatically scanned by an on-server NSFW detection model. This processing happens locally on our server — photos are not sent to any third-party AI service for moderation. Flagged photos are held for host review.

Payment Processing

Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.

Data Retention

Photos are stored for the duration of the event plan (1 day for Free, 7 days for Party, 30 days for Pro, 90 days for Business). After expiration, photos are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers — this is an automatic process that runs hourly. Account data is retained until you delete your account.

Your Rights

You can download your photos at any time through the host dashboard. You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us. If you're in the EU/EEA, you have rights under GDPR including data access, correction, deletion, and portability.

Data Location

Our servers are hosted in data centers that may be located in the US or EU. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

Children

MemWall is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

Changes

We may update this policy. We'll notify account holders of significant changes via email.
