Won't guests spend the whole event on their phone?
That's exactly what we designed against. There's no feed to scroll, no likes to give, no gallery to browse. Guests take a photo and put their phone away. The wall is the shared experience — not the app.
Why not just make a free shared album (Google Photos or WhatsApp)?
You can — but a shared album lives on everyone's phone, which is the whole problem. MemWall puts photos on the big screen live, so the room looks up together instead of scrolling separately. Guests need no app and no account (a shared album makes everyone sign in or install something), every upload is auto-moderated before it appears, and you still download the full album afterward. It's the shared-album keepsake plus the moment in the room.
Do I actually need a screen to display photos?
No screen needed at all. The display wall is completely optional. If you just want to collect photos from your guests, simply share the QR code — printed on a card, sent by text, or shown on any phone — and guests can upload straight from their phones. Every photo lands in your gallery, whether or not there's a screen showing them live.
What screen setup do I need?
Any screen with a web browser. A laptop connected to a projector via HDMI is the most common setup. Just open Chrome, go to your event URL, and press F11 for fullscreen. Also works on smart TVs.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. Guests scan a QR code with their phone camera and a webpage opens. Works on any phone — iPhone, Android, old, new. No app, no login, no account.
Do guests need to be on the same WiFi?
No. MemWall runs in the cloud, so guests can use any internet connection — their own 4G/5G mobile data works perfectly. The venue just needs internet for the display screen.
What if the WiFi drops during the event?
MemWall works offline too. If a guest loses connection mid-upload, the photo queues automatically and uploads the moment they reconnect. No photos are ever lost — even at venues with spotty WiFi.
Can guests take selfies directly?
Yes! On Party plans and above, guests see a live camera viewfinder with a 3-2-1 countdown — like a built-in selfie camera. They can also flip to the rear camera or upload from their gallery. No app needed.
Can guests browse or download photos during the event?
During the event, the wall is the experience. After the event, Pro and Business plans include a full photo gallery where guests can browse, react, and download individual photos. You can also share a download link for the whole album.
How many guests can upload at once?
No limit. Our cloud infrastructure handles hundreds of concurrent uploads. And since each upload only takes a few seconds, there's never a bottleneck.
What if someone uploads something inappropriate?
Our AI-powered NSFW filter automatically catches inappropriate content before it reaches the screen. It's on every plan — including free. The uploader sees a normal "success" message — no public embarrassment.
Can I customize how the wall looks?
